I'm been moving a lot so most of my books are still inside boxes. And because my appartment is small, I'm happy with my personal portable library...
How have I lived before my Kindle!

At home, I've organized my books by theme. 

Kitchen books

The ones that I keep in the shelves under the sink are French cooking books. Some have only recipes of French dishes, other have pictures to teach you point by point until you succeed to cook something edible!

Because, I like to bake pastry, cakes and sweet and beacuse kneading  the dough helps me to relax, I owned a lot a "pâtisserie" books. 
The special cookies with ginger and cinammon for Christmas, my secret chocolate fondant cake or the receipe to make some awesome dark chocolate eclair. Hmmm, Yummi!

The educational books
The ones in the little cubic furniture are guidebooks for the countries I've visited or want to discover. Also tutorial to learn foreign language like Chinese and Japanese. Software books on Indesign, AutoCad, Gimp, Photoshop, etc.

Office Desk

The legs of my home office desk are for my notebooks, dictionnaries, grammar and conjugation books. All the stuff I need, when I write. The other leg is reserved for my art supplies and art books. Too full of crap to show you! Lol!


Fiction and classic works of literature
If you want to relax with a good books, you only have to push the doors of this piece of furniture. It's not my dream library but I don't have enough place to put all my stuff... So, for now, it's the best solution.

There is mix of every genre. Mangas, fantasy stories, YA, parnormal, thrillers, romance, fiction...

Reactions 
The synopsis made ​​me smile. 
To be mistaken for an escort or a high-class prostitute... Waouh! 
I do not know if I would have found it flattering or if I would have been shocked. Knowing me, there is a good chance that the charming gentleman would have heard my best profanities coming from my sweet little mouth. Lol! 
But afterwards, I think I'd have laughed.
So, after reading the plot, I was curious to see how Portia Da Costa was going to make her heroine's react. 

From the moment Bettie makes her apparence, the reader believes in her Pin-Up from the 50s personna, who wants to satisfy her sexual desires and discover the BDSM pleasures with John. 

The sex scenes are boiling hot! I loved the challenges and the sexy imagination of John. I also like the naughty humor and exciting verbal jousting between the two partners. 

Portia Da Costa's books are always dosed in steamy and intense scenes that arouse the reader's imagination. Both heros are a charming couple but I was not so into Brent. Haven't succeed in pinpointed his role. 
Maybe because the book is too focused on the bedroom plays and missed a bit of material to wrap around. It is true that I found the mystery hovering over John a little frustrating. I would have liked to learn more about him. 
But I'll have to wait and see how it goes by reading "The accidental Mistress." 
My curiosity will have to wait to be sated ... Stay tuned!

Mais alors que 
Lizzie apprend les plaisirs de la soumission aux mains d'un maître, que se passera-t-il lorsqu'il découvrira que Lizzie est beaucoup plus que ce qu'elle ne paraît ? 

Si vous avez aimé "Fifty Shades of Grey", vous allez adorer "The Accidental Call Girl" de Portia da Costa. Une bouillante nouvelle fiction érotique avec un brin de S&M. 

Impressions 
Le synopsis m'a fait sourire. 
Être prise pour une escorte ou une poule de luxe...
Je ne sais pas si j'aurai trouvé ça flatteur ou si j'aurai été choquée. Me connaissant, il y a de forte chance pour que le charmant monsieur m'ait entendu lui sortir tous mes plus beaux jurons. Mais après coup, je pense que j'aurai ri.
Alors, j'étais curieuse de voir comment Portia Da Costa allait faire réagir son personnage. 

A partir du moment où Bettie entre en piste, le lecteur rentre dans son personnage de Pin-Up des années 50 qui a envie d'assouvir ses désirs sexuels et de découvrir les plaisirs SM auprès de John. Les scènes de sexe sont bouillantes. 


J'ai adoré les challenges et l'imagination de John. J'aime aussi l'humour coquin et excitant des joutes verbales entre les deux partenaires. 

Les romans de Portia Da Costa sont toujours bien dosés en scènes torrides et intenses qui réveillent l'imagination du lecteur. Le couple de héros est charmant. J'ai moins aimé Brent. Peut-être parce que l'ouvrage est trop centré sur la chambre à couché et manque un peu de matière autour. C'est vrai que j'ai trouvé le mystère planant sur John un peu frustrant et que j'aurais bien aimé en apprendre davantage sur lui. 
Mais il me faudra attendre la suite et lire "The accidental Mistress" pour que ma curiosité soit assouvie... Affaire à suivre!

JUST A COUPLE EX'S 

Synopsis 
Are their spouses cheating? Axel and Liv are afraid to believe it might be so. It's what brings them together. Now that they suspect ... they have to know. But when it's confirmed, who can help them heal better than each other. As they move through the drama of infidelity, they become closer, until they realize they have feelings for each other. 

Liv sees her husband’s sports car where it shouldn’t be. Then she meets the strikingly handsome Axel Savvi, and his wife isn’t where she should be. After Axel helps Liv through a panic attack they both go their separate ways, very confused. But neither of them can leave the questions alone and they find themselves at the bikers bar across the street from the sports car. 


They will watch, together. 

They will be heartbroken, together. 

And in the end they will stick together, slowly getting to know each other while feeling threads of attraction to each other, until they cannot ignore the passion they both want. While their ex’s don’t make things easy, but each problem their cheating spouses lay on them, only make Axel and Liv stronger. 
And closer. 

Reactions 
It made me shudder! 
A bit like watching a train collide with another. You are the unfortunate witness of an accident that will trigger chain reactions and pain. 

While sitting alongside the characters in the bar, I've watched the two cheating lovers kissing through the eyes of the spouses, I really felt sorry for Axel and Liv. It was too realistically written to not make me react. 


The story is about unfaithfulness with a happy ending. The author perfectly controlled the emotional pain, the betrayal, the questionings that goes through the mind of the characters who are not infidels. They are just unfortunate victims and the reader can only feel sorry for them. The reaction of the cheating spouses while confronting with the proof is also a great time. They are true vilain and manipulatrice. 

I did not expect to enjoy a story of adultery so much. Very well written! 
The only thing that bother me was the desire which arises between Axel and Liv. Maybe it's brought too soon after such circonstances. Maybe it spoils the realism of the story. Because I am not convinced that a deceived partner wants to give its confidence as fast but it was a fiction, so who cares... 

The romance is nice and hot. Perhaps it helps to digest the intense negative emotions described by the author. 

A hard but enjoyable story.

Ils auront le cœur brisé ensemble. 

Et à la fin, ils vont rester ensemble, lentement ils vont apprendre à se connaître tout en sentant naître une attirance l'un pour l'autre, jusqu'à ce qu'ils ne peuvent pas ignorer la passion qu'ils désirent tous les deux. 
Bien que leurs ex ne rendent pas les choses faciles, chaque problème que leurs conjoints infidèles placent devant eux ne sert qu'à rendre Axel et Liv plus fort. Et plus proche... 

Impressions
Cela m'a fait froid dans le dos. 
Un peu comme regarder un train rentrer en collision avec un autre. Vous êtes le témoin malheureux d'un accident qui va déclencher des réactions en chaîne et de la peine. 
Et bien, en étant assise aux côtés des personnages dans le bar et en voyant les deux amants s'embrasser aux yeux de tous, j'ai vraiment eu de la peine pour Axel et Liv. 

Évidemment l'histoire est romancée avec une love story et un happy ending. L'auteur a parfaitement maîtrisé la peine, la trahison, les remises en questions dans l'esprit des époux qui ne sont pas infidèles. Des victimes malheureuses qui subissent les attaques, les mensonges de leurs anciens partenaires..
D'ailleurs, la réaction des époux ayant commis l'adultère garantit un très bon moment. Lui est un vilain et elle une belle manipulatrice!

Je ne m'attendais pas à apprécier autant une histoire d'adultère, parfaitement bien écrite. 
J'avoue que le désir qui naît entre Axel et Liv est bien amené mais peut-être gâche-t-il le réalisme de l'histoire. 
Je ne suis pas convaincue que des époux trompés aient envie d'accorder leur confiance aussi vite après de telles circonstances. Pourtant, la romance est agréable et elle permet de digérer les émotions négatives intenses décrites par l'auteur. 

Un récit dur mais agréable.

Reactions 
Very nice story for lovers of surfing. 

Personally, I liked the atmosphere, the hero and how the loss of a loved one were treated by Anna Cruise. I felt the smell of the sea, the sand beneath my toes as far as pain, guilt and the tears of the characters. 

Kellen is endearing and really in a bad spiral. Gina hasn't quickly enough shared her misadventures and her silence showed the depth of her grief. 

There are a lot of anger at the helplessness and at life which then continues while what stay are only memories. 

A nice romance but its charm really lies in the expression of feelings related to the loss. 

*MAVERICK BY ANNA CRUISE

Avec son passé entrant en collision avec son présent, et Kellen dans le vif du sujet, elle commence à se rendre compte que certains secrets ne peuvent pas rester cachés. 

Et soudain, Kellen Handler n'est plus inquiet de perdre sa carrière. 

Il est plus inquiet de perdre son cœur... 

Impressions 
Très beau récit pour les amoureux du surf. 

Personnellement, j'ai aimé l'ambiance, le héros et la manière dont la perte d'un être proche ont été traités par Anna Cruise. 

J'ai senti l'odeur de la mer, le sable sous mes orteils autant que la peine, la culpabilité et les larmes des personnages. 

Kellen est attachant et vraiment dans une mauvaise spirale. Gina, elle, a tardé à partager ses mésaventures et son silence a montré la profondeur de la peine causée par une perte. Il y a beaucoup de colère face à l'impuissance et face à la vie qui continue alors qu'il ne reste que des souvenirs. 

Une romance agréable mais son charme se trouve vraiment dans l'expression des sentiments liés à la perte.

Reactions
A stunning and beautiful love story. 

I started my reading convinced, after reading the synopsis, that I will read a story of adultery.
A story about the death of a couple and how the young woman will drag herself to munch the forbidden fruit. This is exactly what I got, and so much more... 


The reader is immersed in the couple formed by Claire and Chris nowadays with flashbacks of their first meeting, times when they were in love, or jumping to the dark months when Chris was unemployment. A year during which the couple's worries started. 
The distance slowly installed itself because of a lack of communication due to the shame of not being up to it, the guilt of not being ever present, not feeling supported and worst feeling rejected... 

In short, a life of a couple having difficulties. And it is emotionally very well pictured. The reader is able to still feel the love felt by both spouses and the abyss that separates them. All the misunderstandings that hurts because the words are not known and said aloud. 

Then came Daniel. And I confess to have fallen under the spell of this awesome and gentle policeman. He is soft, tender, attentive and present for Claire when she needs it. I liked his gentleman side and the fact that he respect the limits imposed by the married woman. 
Honestly, I have almost wanted another purpose for this beautiful couple. But in the end, the author gives me a wonderful happy ending. One more courageous.

At a time when infidelity is fairly common, the battles of this lost couple, but who is still in love, really touched me. Of course, when Daniel finds himself in the hospital, I would have wanted to believe in a possible friendship after all the cards have been presented in the light. 
Daniel and Claire were so human and touching, it would have been the cherry on the cake. But the temptation would have too present. 

The author has a beautiful way to let you into the intimacy of his characters. She bombards you with realistic details of their daily lives. 
But, it is the window of their souls and emotions that was the most beautifully open. 

A powerful love story, full of hope, very well written.

Il arrête Claire lors d'un contrôle routier de routine, et ils tombent à nouveau l'un sur l'autre lors du défilé du 4 Juillet. Lorsque Claire est embauchée pour faire un travail de conception graphique pour le département de la police, son amitié avec Daniel grandit, et bientôt ils passent des heures entières ensemble. 

Claire aime la façon dont Daniel la fait se sentir, et la façon dont son visage s'illumine quand elle entre dans la pièce. Daniel sait que le statut matrimonial de Claire signifie que leur relation ne sera jamais autre que platonique. 
Mais il ne faut pas attendre longtemps avant que Claire et Daniel naviguent dans les profondeurs très près d'une ligne que Claire a juré ne jamais franchir. 

Impressions 
Superbe et magnifique histoire d'amour. 

J'ai démarré ma lecture persuadée, après la lecture du synopsis, que j'allais lire une histoire d'adultère. 
Un récit sur la mort d'un couple et comment la jeune femme allait glisser vers le fruit défendu. C'est exactement ce que j'ai eu mais en mieux! 

Le lecteur plonge dans le couple formé par Claire et Chris en mélangeant des flash-backs de leur rencontre, des moments où ils étaient amoureux, aux mois de chômage pendant lesquels les soucis du couple ont démarré. La distance qui s'est installée, peu à peu, à cause d'un manque de communication lié à la honte de ne pas être à la hauteur, à la culpabilité de n'être jamais présent, jamais soutenu... 

Bref, une vie de couple qui éprouve des difficultés classiques sauf que c'est émotionnellement très bien décrit.
On voit l'amour éprouvé par les deux époux et le précipice qui les sépare. Les incompréhensions et la peine causée par des mots qui ne sont pas dits. 

Puis arrive Daniel. Et j'avoue être tombée sous le charme du policier. Il est doux, tendre, attentif et présent pour Claire quand elle en a besoin. J'ai aimé son côté gentleman et qu'il respecte les limites imposées par la femme mariée. 
Honnêtement, j'aurai presque voulu une autre fin pour ce couple. Mais au final, l'auteur vous donne une happy end plus courageuse. 

A une époque où l'infidélité est assez commune, les batailles de ce couple, perdu, mais toujours amoureux m'a beaucoup touché. 

Certes, quand Daniel se retrouve à l'hôpital, j'aurai voulu croire en une amitié possible après que toutes les cartes aient été présentées à la lumière tellement les personnages sont humains et touchants. Mais la tentation aurait été trop présente. 

L'auteur a une belle manière de vous faire entrer dans l'intimité de ses personnages en vous abreuvant de détails de leur quotidien. Pourtant, c'est la fenêtre sur leurs âmes et leurs émotions qui a été la plus joliment ouverte. 

Une puissante histoire d'amour, d'espoir, magnifiquement écrite.
