Synopsis 

Gwyn Jacobs doesn’t believe in fairy tales. Ever since her ex-husband walked out, leaving her alone with three small children, Gwyn has been mother, father, and bread-winner all rolled into one. 
Her own scarred heart aside, she refuses to open up her children’s lives to the possibility of another heartbreak, and so she has an unbending policy of no dating and no unattached men in their lives.

An adorable romance to devour avidly!

Honestly, while reading the synopsis about a movie star who will fall in love with a commun stranger, I said to myself: "It reeks of cliché and déjà vu!" Well, Linda Poitevin got me with her story!

Superbly written in accuracy and reality, it's a real world romance without fancy characters, even if the heros is famous. It's just a sweet love story that will make you sigh I really loved this tender fairy tale of modern times . 

No fairy godmother or money coming from the sky but battles to can make ends meet every month. 
Mother of three, Gwyn juggles witrh her architect work and her commitments to offer the best to her children. Baby-sitters, friends, yes. But no boyfriends allowed. 

No one succeptible to hurt her family can walk through the doors of her house or her heart. Until an unexpected and unlikely appointment with Gareth, a movie star, changed his life. 

As for the movie star heros, he is hot but not too extravagant. He has some personal reasons to be away from the Los Angeles's trays when he fell in love with Gwyn's family. 

It's sweet and tender how the author takes us into the reality of a mundane daily life of a single mother. Like every heroine of a real life, Gwyn has to deal with chickenpox, noodle dishes, bedtime stories and cubes. 






Where other romances would have brought the hero to spend money on a private jet, Gareth makes himself useful by putting his hand to the paw by giving daily bathing to the children. 

Ok, even if the happy ending is set like in a fairy tale, I found that Linda Poitevin outcome was fun, especially the airport bad timining. 

Realistic, touching, I really did not feel like saying goodbye to this nice set of characters.

From Gareth: "I didn't expect it," he agreed. "But didn't anyone ever tell you? Some of the best things in life are the ones we don't expect." 

"At Gareth's gentle, amused tone, Gwyn's heart missed several beats, completed a series of impossible accrobatic flips, and then began hammering so loudly that he was sure to hear. Lord, she would'nt have been surprised if the neighbors heard." 

From Gareth: "I want to face every day with you; to laugh with you; to lighten your load in every way I can. I want to hold you in my arms every night and make love to you every chance I get."

Une adorable romance à dévorer !

Honnêtement, à la lecture du synopsis avec une star de cinéma qui tombe sous le charme d'une inconnue, je me suis dit: "ça pue le cliché et le déjà vu!" 
Eh bien, Linda Poitevin m'a eu avec son histoire! 

Superbement écrit dans la justesse et la réalité, c'est une vraie romance contemporaine sans personnages de fantaisie, même si le héros est célèbre. C'est juste une douce histoire d'amour qui vous fera soupirer 

Et bien, j'ai adoré ce conte de fées des temps modernes très tendre. Pas de marraine la bonne fée, ni de déballage de billets verts mais des batailles pour que l'héroïne puisse joindre les deux bouts à la fin du mois. 

Maman de trois enfants, Gwyn jongle avec son boulot d'architecte et sa volonté d'offrir le meilleur à ses enfants. Des babysitters, des amis oui. Mais, pas de petits amis qui franchissent les portes de sa maison ou celle de son coeur. Jusqu'à ce qu'un rendez-vous imprévu et improbable avec Gareth, une star de cinéma, change sa vie. 

Le héros, la quarantaine, est bien roulé mais n'a rien d'extravagant. La célébrité à des raisons personnelles pour être loin des plateaux de Los Angeles lorsqu'il tombe sous le charme de la petite famille de Gwen. 

Tendre et émouvant, l'auteur nous plonge dans la réalité d'un quotidien banal d'une mère célibataire qui jongle avec la varicelle, les plats de nouille, les histoires à raconter avant d'aller au lit et les cubes de lego. 

Là, où les autres romances auraient amené le héros masculin à dépenser son argent en jet privé, Gareth se rend utile en mettant la main à la pâte du quotidien en donnant le bain aux enfants. 

Ok même si le happy ending est de mise dans un conte de fées, j'ai trouvé celui de Linda Poitevin amusant, surtout avec le coup du mauvais timining à l'aéroport. 

Réaliste, touchant, je n'ai vraiment pas eu envie de dire en revoir aux personnages.
