Synopsis

Reactions
While I was finishing "ARIS RETURN: A VAMPIRE LOVE STORY", the first installment of this series, I expected to be surprised by the events in this sequel.
A lot of questions had still been unanswered and the outcome had intrigued me.
Devin Morgan has kept its promises... Well written, this sequel was a page turner.

She took over the intriguing elements of the first volume as past lives and time travel without making it boring. Again, I was exciting to follow this regression through centuries.
Thus, it is Sarah's turn to delve into the era of Anne Boley and discover the life she led as her name was Elizabeth.

Of course, Aris awaits a sign from the psychologist to prove her that they are soulmates and are made to love each others for eternity. But not everything goes as planned. A new gypsy lover, war, jealousy, desire and revenge will disrupt the frail balance in Sarah's world.

More focused on Sarah and the vampires congregation, this volume is less intense in the action but more in the emotion of the characters and the relationships with each others.
I regretted Carlos' impetuousity and his determination to improve himself but new characters were introduced and charm operated.

I also liked the idea of a past that weighs on our actual lives, how we love and interact with others. Although, I realized ery quickly who was DeMarco, yet I was surprised by the new final twist.

A very successful sequel. I will continue to read the adventures of Aris and Sarah with pleasure.

Impressions
En finissant "ARIS RETURN: A VAMPIRE LOVE STORY", le premier opus de cette série, j'attendais d'être surprise par la suite des événements car le dénouement m'avait intrigué. Et bien l'auteur a tenu ses promesses.

Elle a repris les éléments intriguants du premier volume comme les vies antérieures et le voyage dans le temps sans être chiant. Ainsi, c'est autour de Sarah de plonger dans l'époque d'Anne Boley et de découvrir la vie qu'elle a mené alors qu'elle se prénommait Elizabeth.

Bien entendu Aris n'attend qu'un signe de la psychologue pour lui prouver qu'ils sont des âmes sœurs et qu'ils sont fait pour s'aimer pour l'éternité. Mais tout ne se passe pas comme prévu. Un nouvel amant tzigane, de la jalousie, du désir et de la vengeance vont venir perturber l'équilibre de Sarah.

Plus centré sur Sarah et le clan des vampires, ce volume est moins intense dans l'action mais plus dans l'émotion et le rapport des personnages les uns avec les autres. J'ai regretté un peu l'impétuosité de Carlos et son envie de se bonifier mais de nouveaux personnages ont fait leur apparition et le charme a opéré.

J'ai aimé aussi l'idée d'un passé qui pèse sur nos vies et notre façon d'aimer et d'interagir avec les autres. Même si très vite, j'ai compris qui était DeMarco, j'ai pourtant été surprise par le nouveau rebondissement final.

Une suite très bien réussie qui me donne envie de continuer à lire les aventures d'Aris et de Sarah.
