Synopsis

She knows he is anything but good for her and that he’ll never be faithful to anyone. He is jaded and has secrets Blaire knows she may never uncover but even knowing all of that…

Summary
Blaire arrives at her father's house, after burying her mother, just to find a place to crash a few days. She did not expect much from the man who has abandoned her five years earlier, only to share food and shelter. 

But upon her arrival, she realizes that his father has fled to Paris with his new wife. Alone, without a sub, she finds herself at the mercy of her gorgeous half-brother who happened to be a jerk. But this handsome spoiled brat does not leave her indifferent... 

Reactions
I've grabbed the book to treat myself and to change my mind after a day at work. So I sat on my couch just to decompress...
Unfortunately, I haven't let go of this book for 3 hours... Only after I finished reading it.

I laughed. I sighed. I had a heavy heart and yes, I admit, I even had tears in my eyes while turning the pages. A perfect relaxing story where you do not think about anything other than the characters adventures. 
This feeling of being caught by the protagonists, it's awesome and thrilling! 

Imagine me trying to blow my nose in the middle of my reading...Was my day so bad that I was exhausted so much to cry for a nineteen years old virgin falling in love with a jerk ? Not really. So I wondered how it was possible for a light story to touched me this much.

So I questioned myself. I really had the impression that the author had managed to reach all the heartstrings and play me like a violin. If at the time, it was liberating and uplifting to being caught by the emotions of a book...
With hindsight, it's awfully embarrassing too... 

Indeed, it has nothing to do with the story itself that may seem a little too juvenile, although the revelations at the end are more than surprising ... But Abbi Glines still manages to create an emotional connection between its characters and her readers. Even when an asshole is as bad as Rush, that changes women as often as his undies, the author make him loveable and irresistible.

There is something amazing when an author manages to extricate your emotions. This makes your reading more interesting and certainly more intense. And I'm amazed by this kind of magic. It's not something that can be done by everyone. 

Honestly, the story is enjoyable and you will spend a nice time. However, this is not important. It is the talent of the author that brings you into the life of Blaire and Rush, makes you sympathize, which is to be retained. 
I will be waiting the sequel with impatience...

Blaire Wynn a quitté sa petite ferme située dans l'Alabama, après que sa mère soit décédée pour aller vivre avec son père et sa nouvelle épouse dans leur gigantesque maison de plage nichée le long de la côte de la Floride. Elle n'est pas préparée pour le changement de mode de vie et elle sait déjà qu'elle n'aura pas sa place dans ce monde.

Ensuite, il y a son demi-frère, super sexy, avec qui son père la laisse pour passer l'été, alors qu'il s'enfuit pour Paris avec sa femme. Rush est aussi pourri gâté qu'il est magnifique. 

Très vite, il parvient à lui coller à la peau. Elle sait pourtant qu'il est tout sauf bon pour elle et qu'il ne sera jamais fidèle. Blaire sait aussi qu'il est blasé et qu'il a de nombreux secrets dont elle ne parviendra peut-être jamais à découvrir le sens, mais même en sachant tout ça ...  


Blaire vient peut-être de tomber trop éperdument amoureuse pour s'en remettre...

Résumé
Blaire arrive chez son père, après avoir enterré sa mère, pour trouver un point de chute. Elle n'attend pas grand chose de l'homme qui l'a abandonné cinq ans plus tôt à part le gîte et le couvert. 

Mais à son arrivée, elle s'aperçoit que son père s'est enfuit à Paris avec sa nouvelle femme. Seule, sans un sous, elle se retrouve à la merci de son somptueux connard de demi-frère qui ne la laisse pas pas du tout indifférente. 

Impressions
Je me suis assise sur mon canapé et je n'ai déposé ce livre que 3 heures après...une fois ma lecture terminée. 

J'ai ri. J'ai soupiré. J'ai eu le coeur serré et oui, j'avoue, j'ai même eu les larmes aux yeux. Un moment de détente parfait pendant lequel vous ne pensez à rien d'autres qu'aux aventures de vos personnages. 
Cette sensation d'avoir été attrapée par les protagonistes, c'est excellent!

Imaginez moi en train de me moucher en plein milieu de ma lecture... Je me suis même demandée comment c'était possible d'être prise par les émotions à propos d'une vierge de 19 ans qui tombe amoureuse d'un con...  

Alors je me suis interrogée car j'avais vraiment l'impression que l'auteur était parvenue à toucher toutes les cordes sensibles et à me jouer comme un violon. Si sur l'instant, c'est libérateur et euphorisant de s'être fait prendre par les émotions d'un livre... 
Avec le recul, c'est surtout un peu embarrassant...

En effet, cela n'a rien avoir avec l'histoire qui en elle-même peut paraître juvénile et légère. Bien que les révélations finales soient plus que surprenantes...
Mais, cela vient plutôt d'Abbi Glines qui parvient toujours a créer un lien émotionnel entre ses personnages et ses lecteurs. Même lorsqu'il s'agit d'un connard aussi désagréable que Rush qui change de femmes comme de caleçons. 

Il y a quelque chose d'incroyable quand un auteur parvient à vous extirper des émotions. Cela rend votre lecture plus intense et certainement plus intéressante. Ce genre de don, lorsque la magie opère, me touche car ce n'est pas donné à tous. 

Honnêtement, l'histoire est agréable et vous fera passer un moment sympa. Pourtant, ce n'est pas l'important. C'est le talent de l'auteur à vous faire entrer dans la vie de Blaire et Rush, à vous faire sympathiser, qui est à retenir.
