Synopsis 

Touted by the tabloids as the biggest rock star of our generation, Abigail Kelly is used to being in the spotlight. But beyond the glam of Hollywood, her world is falling apart. Still reeling from the death of her brother and wilting under the iron fist of Max, her manager, Abby banishes herself to the secluded beaches of Florida for the summer, thinking some anonymity and sunshine are just what she needs. What she finds, instead, is Todd, an ex-marine eager to embrace life after war. Together, Abby and Todd find the balance Abby’s life has been missing.

Often, in the romantic stories featuring celebrities, all the cards are spread out so that the flakes and sparks make you dream. 
Also generally, the trend is having a man in the spotlight and a woman who is attracted by the personality behind the mask of the star. 
A great receipe, of course, because the female reader wants to picture herself with whatever actor she secretly fantasize about. 

A very refreshing novel because Ophelia London reverse the trend. Abby has talent. However, by using her voice too much, by spending her time on the road, by smiling at her fans, and by always trying to dodge the paparazzi, she begins to falter. Physically and mentally exhausted, she needs to stop running and recharge. But even two months of vacations seem to be difficult to insert in her super busy schedule. 

Yet this change of air will give her a new impulsion, a new desire and... will radically change her life. 

Of course, there is a love story. Of course Todd is the perfect guy for Abby. Of course he tries to fit into her famous world. 
 Obviously the road to happiness is strewn with pitfalls but this part here, it is up to you to find out about. 
Don't be a chicken, the story is great and the characters are all well pictured and entertaining. 

What interested me the most is the backstage development and drama. The backbreaking work required to be famous. The betrayal, the pressure, guilt and the lack of self-confidence of the heroin. 

Perfectly described, it is far from the dream life imagined by fans and yet this is what makes the charm of this story. A very nice discovery.

Impressions 
Généralement, dans les histoires romantiques mettant en scène des célébrités, toute les cartes sont étalées pour que les paillettes fassent rêver. 
Généralement aussi, la tendance est à l'homme sous la lumière des projecteurs et à la femme d'être séduite par la personnalité derrière le masque de la star. 
Une recette qui fonctionne puisque la lectrice veut pouvoir fantasmer sur l'acteur qui l'a fait rêver en secret... 


Dans son roman, très frais, Ophelia London inverse la tendance. Abby a du talent. Cependant, à force d'exploiter sa voix, de passer son temps en tournée, de sourire à ses fans, et à esquiver les paparazzi, elle commence à s'essouffler. 

Physiquement et mentalement épuisée, elle a besoin d'arrêter de courir et de se ressourcer. Mais même deux mois de vacances semblent être difficile à intercaler dans son emploi du temps super chargé. 

Pourtant, ce changement d'air va lui redonner l'envie et changer radicalement sa vie. 

Bien entendu, il y a une histoire d'amour. Bien entendu Todd est le mec parfait pour Abby. Évidemment qu'il tentera de s'intégrer dans son monde. Évidemment que la route vers le bonheur sera semée d’embûches mais cette partie là, c'est à vous de la découvrir et de vous laisser emporter.

Moi, ce qui m'a particulièrement intéressé, c'est l'envers du décor. Le travail harassant demandé. Les trahisons, la pression, la culpabilité et le manque de confiance en soi de l'héroïne. 

Parfaitement décrit. On est loin de la vie de rêve imaginé par les fans et pourtant c'est ce qui fait tout le charme de cette histoire. 
Une très belle découverte.
