Synopsis 
Terror stalks a small Virginia town.

Reactions 
I've always had a soft spot for serial killers and how their murders can be interpreted. 

Fan of Sam Waters in the Profiler series or of Eve Duncan, the characeter invented by Iris Johansen, this story was in line with what I like. 

I appreciated the investigation conducted by the agent Evelyn Bane. I especially liked her cold personality, her unability to express her feelings and her need for control. It was fun to follow the tracks of the killer through her profiler eyes. 
The part where Evelyn finds herself in the role of the victim is also very realistic and page turner. 

This thriller hasn't make me lost sleep, but it interested me from the beginning until the end. There are twists, suspense and I liked to follow the trail of the serial killer with the heroine. I also liked being immersed in the FBI world.

Small problem, I would have liked more details about the characters. Especially, Kyle and the romantic development between the two agents. 

Because we kind off stayed in the dark... Just as I have been curious to know why Dan changed his behavior with Evelyn and why Cory behaves like an idiot in front of the profiler. 
But maybe this informations will be revealed in the next adventure of Evelyn ... 

A good entertaining thriller.

Mais elle n'a jamais chassé quelqu'un comme le Bakersville Burier, qui chasse des jeunes femmes et les expose, semi-enterrées, au fond des bois. Alors que le nombre de corps grimpe, la poursuite incessante du tueur par Evelyn met sa carrière - et sa vie - en danger. Et le mal tapit dans l'esprit du tueur pourrait être plus important que ce qu'elle ne pourrait démêler. 

La terreur est plus proche qu'elle ne le pense. Le Bakersville Burier sait qu'il a un profiler du FBI sur ses traces. Il sait qui elle est et où la trouver. Et il attend son heure, parce qu'il a prévu une punition spéciale pour Evelyn. Elle a peut-être traqué d'autres tueurs, mais il jure de faire cette enquête sa dernière chasse. Et cette fois, c'est au tour d'Evelyn d'être chassée! 

Impressions 
J'ai toujours eu un faible pour les serial killers et la manière dont leurs meurtres peuvent être interprétés. 

Fan de Sam Waters dans la série Profiler ou du personnage d'Eve Duncan inventé par Iris Johansen, j'ai donc apprécié l'enquête mené par l'agent Evelyn Baine. J'ai surtout aimé sa personnalité froide, incapable d'exprimer des sentiments et son besoin de contrôle. 
C'était amusant de suivre les pistes du tueur via ses yeux du profiler.

La partie où Evelyn se retrouve dans le rôle de la victime est également très réaliste et m'a fait tourner les pages. 

Ce thriller ne m'a pas fait frémir mais il m'a intéressé du début jusque la fin grâce aux héros. Il y a des rebondissements, du suspense et j'ai aimé suivre la piste de ce serial killer. J'ai aimé aussi être plongé dans le monde du FBI. 

Petit bémol, j'aurai aimé avoir plus de détails sur les personnages. Notamment sur Kyle et le développement romantique entre les deux agents et ne pas vraiment rester dans le flou. Tout comme, j'aurai été curieuse de savoir pourquoi Dan change de comportement avec Evelyn et pourquoi Cory se comporte comme un con avec le profiler. 
Mais peut-être que ces informations seront dévoilées dans les prochaines aventures d'Evelyn... 

Un thriller divertissant!
