Synopsis

Daniel Marceau has come from Marseille, looking to escape bad decisions and worse memories. He never expected to fall in love, and when his past catches up with him it could ruin the only thing he’s ever found worth living for. 

Daniel’s fears and his reluctance to ask Benoît for help could cost them everything they’ve worked so hard to create.

Reactions
The Parisian in me loved the ride provided by the author into the streets of Paris and those of Marseille.

I also liked the music that accompanies this story. I always enjoyed it when the authors disclose a playlist, with songs that have inspired them, while writing the novel. 
Here, it is even better because the heroes are musicians and they interpret the classics of the French repertoire that all the tourist are asking for like "La Vie en Rose".

The romantic in me also enjoyed the difficult love story between Daniel and Benoît. What I liked most is that the two heroes assume their sexuality. 
Often in Gay romances, there is a protagonist who has not done his coming out or who is not confortable in his own gay skin. 

In this tale, the reader witnesses beautiful scenes of love and sex. Particularly explicit, they are realistic and exciting but above all.... Boiling hot and super sexy! 

What bothered me though, is the heavy presence of drugs. If it brings excitement and spice at the beginning, soon the too realistic descriptions saddled the atmosphere. 
Sure, it gives some dark depth to Daniel. His addiction and his struggle to stay clean render his character less fictional and more complex but it can decourage some reader... 
But Daniel is lucky to have such a comprehensive, determined and loving partner like Benoît. 

After reading the ending, I want to learn more about this couple whose future still seems chaotic but hopeful. A hard and true romance between two men who need to keep some hope alive. 
And some torrid scenes!

Impressions 
La Parisienne en moi a adoré la balade offerte par l'auteur dans les rues de Paris et celles de Marseille.

J'ai aussi aimé la musique qui accompagne ce récit. J'ai toujours apprécié quand les auteurs divulguent une playlist, avec des morceaux qui les ont inspirés durant l'écriture du roman. 
Là, c'est encore mieux étant donné que les héros sont musiciens et qu'ils interprètent les classiques de la chanson française comme "La Vie en Rose".

La romantique en moi a aussi aimé l'histoire d'amour difficile entre Daniel et Benoît. Ce que j'ai apprécié surtout c'est que les deux héros assument leur sexualité. 

Car souvent dans les romances Gay, l'un des protagonistes n'a pas fait son coming out ou n'assume pas. 
Là, le lecteur assiste à de très belle scènes d'amour et de sexe. Particulièrement explicites, elles sont chaudes, sexy et réalistes. Et ce que j'ai précisé....torrides? Lol!


Ce qui m'a dérangé cependant, c'est la lourde présence des drogues dans le récit. Si cela apporte du suspense et du piment au démarrage, très vite les descriptions trop réalistes plombent l'ambiance. 
 En tous les cas cela donne une obscurité à Daniel. 
Sa dépendance et son combat pour rester clean rendent son personnage plus vrai, plus fort. Et il a de la chance d'avoir un partenaire aussi compréhensible, aimant et déterminé que Benoît. 

Le fin m'a donné envie d'en savoir plus sur ce couple dont l'avenir parait encore chaotique mais également plein d'espoir. 
J'aurai beaucoup aimé entendre la chanson composée par Benoît... 

Une romance dure et vraie entre deux hommes qui ont besoin de garder l'espoir. 
Et quelques scènes torrides!
