Feature and Follow Friday #166

Question of the week...
It is up to you to do a Kickstarter campaign for your favorite book!
Who are you casting for the main characters?

First, I'd have to define and choose my favorite book ... Never an easy task! 
By writing this blog, each year, I discover new authors and new books. So, to pick just one...Tsss...Impossible!

But to answer this question... This year, I would have chosen "The fault in our stars" by John Green. But the movie has already started to be filmed. And the casting is already picked. Is it the same one I would have chosen ? Probably not. Will it be an amazing adaptation? I can only cross my fingers.

I'm always dissapointed by a book adapted to a movie. Even when the movies are good like for "Harry Potter" or "Lords of the Ring". The reader in me will find something missing. 

And when the adaptation sucks like for the first episode of "Twilight" (sorry for the Paterson's and Stewar's fans) or is not at the level of the book like for "Hunger Games" or "Beautiful Creatures", I'm having trouble to be delighted. 

Again, it's only me opinion and maybe be you were perfectly happy with these movies. It's a question of art, beauty and subjectivity...
But, it makes me sad because I know that some spectactors will never read the book and just have this edulcorated version of something that was amazing while turning the pages. 
So, I'm a bit anxious about watching"The Mortal Instrument." Have you enjoyed it ? 
And I hope I will not be disappointed by "Divergent."
