Rather amusing, I've spend a great relaxing time with this novel.

For once, I enjoyed having a woman sexually in charge and especially to have a man, male enough, to let her take control. The reader follows a speed dating events where Heather, a rather introvert and shy young woman, decides to play the femme fatale. 
She dictates the rules of her pleasure to a man who wants to stop being in charge of everything, all the time. 

The best part was that she plays her dom role by following and creating romantic scenes based on erotica novels she has read... 
So, with all the erotic novels, I have read, I should be inspired...Lol!

What made ​​me appreciate this book is the desire to experience new adventures from both partners and the simplicity with which the roles are reversed and the games are invented. This novel is a story of open-mindedness more than a novel of BDSM. 

The characters are touching, funny and endearing. Heather needs to prove her worth and reassure herself professionally and in her private life, the fact that Tony was a confident man, at ease with his skin and in his sexuality, allows Heather to grow and blossom. 

There is also humor in the text and some pretty funny scenes. I must admit that I have a penchant for cooking spatulas but since my reading, I look at the ping-pong rackets another way ... Lol! 

Perfect for a relaxing night to help you unwind.

Plutôt amusant, ce roman m'a fait passer un bon moment. 

J'ai apprécié avoir une femme aux commandes et surtout d'avoir un homme assez mâle pour lui laisser prendre le contrôle.

Le lecteur suit une soirée de speed dating où Heather décide de jouer les femmes fatales en dictant les règles de son plaisir à un homme qui souhaite arrêter d'être en charge de tout, tout le temps. 

Ce qui m'a fait apprécier ce livre, c'est l'envie d'expérimenter de nouvelles aventures de chacun des partenaires et la simplicité avec laquelle les rôles s'inversent et les jeux s'inventent. Ce roman est plus une histoire d'ouverture d'esprit avec des jeux de rôle qu'un roman SM.

Les personnages sont touchants, amusants et attachants. Heather a besoin de se prouver sa valeur et de se rassurer professionnellement et dans sa vie privée. Le fait que Tony soit un homme bien dans sa peau et dans sa sexualité lui permet de s'épanouir et de trouver l'amour. 

Il y a aussi de l'humour dans le texte et quelques scènes assez cocasses. Je dois avouer que j'ai un penchant pour les spatules mais depuis ma lecture, je regarde les raquettes de ping-pong d'une autre manière...Rires! 

Parfait pour passer une bonne soirée et décompresser.

This book is a beauty, a marvel ...

Emotions are intense, extremes. 
The author speaks of death, loss, hopelessness and it hits you in the heart. It is so tragic that it's beautiful. It's so beautiful, it hurts. 
A must read!

After reading the synopsis, I imagined diving into a fantasy novel. I really do not know why since from the first lines, the author announce that there will be no superheroes or magic formulas. 

Of course, once immersed in the reality of the first lines with a main character that refuses to speak, I wondered where I had fallen. 
But I was intrigued after having the reader's privileges to heard all her inside thoughts. 

From the start, the mechanisms of self-defense, employed by Nastya not to be approached or loved, made ​​me smile. Maybe because the best defense is attack and those who have suffered at one time in their lives have resorted to such tactics... 
Her suffering is visible, palpable. Her silent cries for help are obvious even if the heroine defends herself from needing being rescued. 

But nothing is surjouée (overplayed) everything is beautifully proportioned. The more she hides, the more the reader wants to discover her inner secrets. Her way of life is devoid of hope, but full of beautiful crappy philosophy.
However, Josh moved me the greatest. Perhaps because the absence, emptiness and his fear to be left alone, when everyone knows that the loss is inevitable, were emotions that just rang too true in my ears. His personality and his love for working with woods made him the character of my heart. 

Even if there is very little action, Katja Millay knew how to capture and keep my attention from the beginning to the ending of her splendid story about second chances and the importance of living life to its fullest. 

If you had told me there was no twists, no real action in this novel but that I'll love it... I would have been septic. I would have probably skip this story. 
But I'd missed out a beautiful freely flow of words, phrases, sensations and emotions.

It is sad. The feelings are raw. The thoughts are depressing about some concepts that people generally refuses to explore if one is not touched by misfortune. But it's never suffocating. 
The humour is wry, awesome. 

This book has a power, a force that makes you want to keep hope and tell you that despite your everyday worries, life is really worth living .

La jeune prodige du piano a perdu sa main, son corps, son talent et décide de se murer dans le silence pour ne pas mentir à ceux qu'elle aime. Puis, elle rencontre Josh, un jeune homme habitué a être quitté, qui ne veut plus s'attacher. Ensemble, ils vont réapprendre à vivre.

Impressions 
Ce livre est une beauté, une petite merveille... 

Les émotions sont intenses, extrêmes. L'auteur parle de la mort, de la perte, de l'absence d'espoir et ça vous touche en plein coeur. 
C'est tellement tragique que c'est magnifique. C'est tellement beau que ça fait mal. 
Un livre incontournable! 

A la lecture du synopsis, je me suis imaginée plonger dans un histoire de fantasy. Je ne sais vraiment pas pourquoi puisque les premières lignes vous annoncent qu'il n'y aura pas de super héros ou de formules magiques. 

Forcément une fois plongée dans la réalité des premières lignes avec un personnage principale qui refuse de parler et dont on entend toutes les pensées, je me suis demandée où j'étais tombée. Mais j'étais intriguée.

Dès le début les mécanismes d'auto-défense employés par Nastya pour ne pas être approchée, aimée m'ont fait sourire. 
Peut-être parce que la meilleur défense reste l'attaque et que ceux qui ont souffert à un moment de leur vie ont eu recours à ces stratagèmes.

Sa souffrance est visible, palpable. Ses appels à l'aide sautent aux yeux même si l'héroïne s'en défend mais rien n'est surjouée tout est magnifiquement dosée. Plus elle se cache, plus le lecteur veut la découvrir. Sa manière de voir la vie est dénuée d'espoir mais plein de philosophie. 

Pourtant, c'est Josh qui m'a ému. Peut-être parce que l'absence, le vide, la peur de s'attacher, quand on sait que la perte est inévitable, sont des émotions qui ont sonné trop juste à mes oreilles pour ne pas qu'il devienne le personnage auquel je me suis le plus attachée. 

Très peu d'action et pourtant Katja Millay a su comment capter et garder mon attention du début à la fin de sa splendide histoire sur les deuxièmes chances et l'importance de vivre sa vie pleinement.

Si l'on m'avait dit: il n'y a pas de rebondissements, pas vraiment d'action mais tu vas adoré. J'aurais été septique. 

Mais je serais passée à côté d'une fluidité des mots, des phrases, des sensations et des émotions. 
 C'est triste. Les sentiments sont à vif avec des pensées déprimantes sur des concepts que l'on se refuse généralement à explorer si l'on est pas touché par le malheur. Pourtant, ce n'est jamais suffoquant. 
Ecrit avec beaucoup d'humour, c'est grinçant. 

Ce livre est d'une puissance, d'une force qui vous donne envie de garder espoir et de vous dire que malgré vos tracas du quotidien, la vie vaut vraiment la peine d'être vécue.

Reactions 
The first book, Destined to Play, really blown me away. 
The text was inventive, erotically charged and was ending in a cliffhanger with the capture of Alexandra. 
So I longed to put my hands on the sequel very badly ... 

However, past the first scenes of kidnapping, I was bored. The arrival at the castle and the whole espionage and treason aspects has not kept my imagination alert. So, I found this part a bit long.

Certainly, it is still well written. Certainly, eroticism is always present even in the absence of Jeremy through memories, but I was less sensitive to the story. I came away frustrated because the first part was really incredible. 

Nevertheless, I liked the part about the experiences even if they were more clinical and less romantic than those practiced in Jeremy's company . 

The author is very imaginative. I like the way she closes this new chapter. 
Although the peak of suspense is not as intense. I think I've already guessed Dr. Blake's decision but I would read the next installment with pleasure.

Less thrilling but I still want to continue ...

Impressions
Le premier volet m'avait vraiment soufflé. Le texte était inventif, l'histoire chargée d'érotisme et la fin terminait en apothéose avec la capture d'Alexandra. Je rêvais de mettre ma main sur la suite...

Oui mais voilà, passé les premières scènes du kidnapping, je me suis ennuyée. L'arrivée au château et tout l'aspect espionnage industriel, trahison n'a pas maintenu mon imagination en alerte. J'ai eu l'impression de me faire balader comme Alexandra. Du coup, j'ai trouvé cette partie un peu longue. 

Certes, c'est toujours bien écrit. Certes, l'érotisme est toujours présent même en l'absence de Jeremy par le biais des souvenirs mais j'ai été moins sensible à l'histoire. J'en suis ressortie frustrée car le premier volet était vraiment incroyable. 

Cependant, j'ai apprécié la partie concernant les expériences même si beaucoup plus clinique et moins romantique de celles pratiquées en compagnie de Jeremy. L'auteur reste très imaginative même dans sa manière de clôturer ce nouveau chapitre. 
Bien que le pic de suspense ne soit pas aussi intense et que je me doute des choix à venir du docteur Blake, je lirais le prochain opus avec plaisir. 

Moins emballée mais encore envie de continuer...

Reactions 
My heart was tight and heavy for a great part of my reading. 
A beautiful love story between two people banged up by life. It's poignant. The ending leaves you with racing heart (more than 100 miles an hour) and with the desire to get your hands on the sequel... Immediately! 

Very nicely written. 

The story follows Callie and Kayden in College. It's a reunion because they grew up in the same city, were in the same high school but did not know each other. They gravited in different school cliques.

Traumatized by a tragic event at the age of 12, Callie has always been on the margins of hight school society rules to achieve her survival. 
Blamed for her abnormal behavior, she did not have the opportunity to flourish and try experiences of people of her age. So, in college, she reinvents herself and opens up further thanks to an incredible meeting with a true friend. 

The aftermath of her trauma are visible: fear of interacting with others, especially men, and give them her trust. But a secret shared with Kayden allows her to get closer and help her to face her fears.

I loved the small steps, the challenges she forces herself to overcome. She starts to get out of her confinement and not let her life be dictated by fears. Her courage is amazing and inspiring. Ditto from her best friend.

I just wish she had a person to confide in sooner. Especially if she could not do it with her mother. It's amazing how she has sought to maintain an adult hapiness and peace of mind while keeping her entire pain locked inside. 
Callie's broken past make her a very moving character but I like her strength too. She not so fragile. She was able to learn how to become stronger to stop being a victim... 

Indeed, Callie deal with psychological scars but tries to heal them. Kayden has been abused but hesitates to take action. He is afraid to take this step. Even if he opens up along with Callie, he can not bring himself to share the gnawing pain he feels inside. 
Perhaps the strongest physically but also the more vulnerable of the two heroes. 

A beautiful story of courage, healing through love. 
Very nice reading full of strong emotions.

La vie de Callie s'est transformée lors de son douzième anniversaire et elle s'est brutalement coupée du monde. Mais tout change lorsqu'elle arrive à la Fac. Elle croise Kayden, un garçon qu'elle a sauvé un soir et qui pourrait bien la sauver à son tour... 

Impressions 
J'ai eu le coeur serré pendant une bonne partie de ma lecture. Une histoire d'amour magnifique entre deux êtres amochés par la vie. C'est poignant. La fin vous laisse avec le coeur qui bat à 100 à l'heure et avec l'envie de mettre vos mains sur la suite.

Très joliment rédigé, on suit Callie et Kayden lors de leurs retrouvailles à la Fac. Retrouvailles car ils ont grandi dans la même ville, été dans le même lycée mais ne se connaissent pas. 

Traumatisée par un évènement tragique survenu le jour de ses 12 ans, Callie s'est mise en marge de la société et s'est renfermée pour parvenir à survivre. 
Pointée du doigt pour son comportement anormal, elle n'a pas eu l'occasion de s'épanouir et de réaliser des expériences des gens de son âge. Du coup, à la fac, elle se réinvente et s'ouvre davantage grâce à une rencontre incroyable avec un véritable ami.

Les séquelles de son traumatisme sont visibles par sa peur d'interagir avec les autres, notamment avec les hommes, et à accorder sa confiance. Mais un secret partagé avec Kayden lui permet de se rapprocher de lui et de tenter d'affronter ses peurs. 
J'ai beaucoup aimé les petits pas, des défis qu'elle se lance pour sortir de son enfermement et ne plus avoir son comportement dicté par la peur. Son courage est incroyable. Idem pour son meilleur ami.

Je regrette juste qu'elle n'ait eu personne à qui se confier et surtout qu'elle n'ait pas pu le faire avec sa mère. C'est incroyable comme elle a cherché à préserver le bonheur d'un adulte en gardant toute sa peine enfermée en elle. Callie est très émouvante mais pas si fragile que ça...
Elle a été capable d'apprendre à se défendre pour ne plus être une victime.  

En effet, Callie a des séquelles psychologiques mais tente de les guérir. Kayden, lui, a été abusé mais hésite à prendre des mesures. Il a peur de franchir cette étape et, même s'il s'ouvre aux côtés de Callie, la part de souffrance qui le ronge, il ne peut se résoudre à la partager. 
Peut-être le plus fort physiquement mais le plus vulnérable des deux héros. 

Une belle histoire de courage, de guérison et d'amour.
