CLUB MONSTROSITY VOL 1 

Synopsis 
Natalie’s one of Frankenstein’s creations and works in a New York City morgue. So of course she needs therapy. She and her friends—er, fellow monsters—have formed the world’s most exclusive, most dysfunctional support group. What could go wrong? 

Undetected in the modern world and under pressure to stay that way, Natalie Grey, Dracula, Bob the Blob, and others (including the fetching wolfman Alec) meet regularly to talk about the pressures of being infamous in the Big Apple. 

Topics include how long it’s been since their last sighting, how their “story” creates stereotypes they can’t fulfill, and—gasp—sometimes even their feelings. 
But when their pervy Invisible Man, Ellis, is killed in a manner reminiscent of the H.G. Wells novel, it’s clear someone’s discovered their existence and is down for some monster busting. 

Led by Natalie—and definitely not helped by Hyde’s bloodthirsty tendencies—the members of Monstofelldosis Anonymous band together for security and a little sleuthing. And maybe—maybe—if they don’t end up dead, they’ll end up friends somewhere along the way.

A group therapy for super famous monsters. 
The idea made ​​me laugh and I immediately wanted to get my hands on this crazy book. 

Supernatural fan, I was delighted because all these monstrosities live in New York, in full view of every humans, and try to integrate themselves into the modern world. 

So, Drakula struggle to use all the fonction of his smartphone... You can meet the daughter of Frankenstein in the middle of an autopsy at the morgue or an Egyptian mummy, with her skin completely dehydrated, is working at the head of a cosmetology service that pursue the concoction of a special cream for dry skin. 

Hilarious! The author's imagination completly cracks me up! 

Once the presentations with the monsters are done, the reader goes in the pursuit of a serial killer determined to exterminate these creatures by following the description of their book's death. Soon, their survival is threatened and they must work together. 
This was without counting on Van Helsing ... 

Crazy, imaginative and full of humorous repartees and ripostes, I really enjoyed myself. 
A good book to look at cult childrens monster books differently. 
A nice original idea perfectly written. 

Sentences 

From Alec: "None of us die in particularly pleasant ways in our stories. Kind of comes with the monster territory." 

From Natalie: "But she hadn't done anything scary (aside from take garbage to the chute at the end of her hallway without wearing her makeup) in so long she couldn't remember it. 

"And it turned out that cabbies didn't really comply when you shouted, "Follow that Town Car!" as much as they did in movies. Stupid movies."

Alors, qu'est-ce qui pourrait mal tourner? 


Passant inaperçue dans le monde moderne et sous pression de le rester ainsi, Natalie Grey, Dracula, Bob le Blob, et d'autres (y compris le charmant loup garou, Alec) se réunissent régulièrement pour parler de la pression d'être tristement célèbre dans la Grande Pomme. 
Les sujets traités comprennent depuis combien de temps ils n'ont pas été démasqués, comment leur «histoire» crée des stéréotypes auxquels ils ne peuvent pas se mesurer, et parfois même de leurs sentiments. Mais quand le pervers d'homme invisible, Ellis, est tué d'une manière qui rappelle le roman de HG Wells, il est clair que quelqu'un a découvert leur existence et veut débuter une nouvelle traque. 


Dirigée par Natalie, et certainement pas aidé par des tendances sanguinaires de Hyde, les membres de la bande des monstres anonymes se rassemble pour se sentir en sécurité et un peu pour jouer les détectives  Et peut-être, peut-être, s'ils ne finissent pas morts avant, ils finiront amis quelque part le long du chemin.

Impressions 
Un groupe de thérapie pour monstres super célèbres... L'idée m'a fait marrer et j'ai immédiatement voulu mettre la main sur ce bouquin. 

Fan de surnaturel, j'ai été charmée car tous ces monstruosités vivent en plein New York et tentent de s'intégrer dans le monde moderne. 

Ainsi, Drakula peine à configurer son portable... On peut croiser la fille de Frankenstein à la morgue en train de réaliser une autopsie ou une momie égyptienne, à la peau complètement déshydratée, à la tête d'un service de cosmétologie à rechercher une crème spéciale peau sèche. Hilarant!

C'était une intrigue originale. L'imagination de l'auteur m'a emporté et m'a fait marrer. 

Une fois les présentations faites avec les monstres, à leurs côtés, le lecteur se met à la poursuite d'un serial killer bien décidé à tuer ces monstres en suivant la mort décrite dans les ouvrages qui leur sont consacrés. Bientôt, leur survie est menacée et ils doivent s'unir pour s'en sortir. 
C'était sans compter sur Van Helsing... 

Déjanté, imaginatif et bourré de réparties pleine d'humour, je me suis régalée. Un bon roman pour regarder nos monstres d''enfants différemment. 
Une belle idée parfaitement rédigée.
