Feature and Follow Friday #169

Question of the week...
What book (or TV show or movie) have you not read that seemingly everyone else has?

Books
So much books to read... Only 24 hours per day...Even less with all the distraction like work, transportation, cooking, hobbies, friends, family, sleeping time...Just two eyes... You see where I'm going? Lol!

There are a lot of books that for all of you who are English speaking are considered to be a classical like: Lord Byron's poetry, "A Tale of Two Cities" by Charles Dickens  or  "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" by Mark Twain. (Ok, I've watched the anime of Tom Sawyer when I was young but it's not the same...)
I still need  to perfect my knowledge of the English Litterature!

Nowadays, I've missed  the "Vampire Academy" serie by Richelle Mead. I was reading too much vampires' series and I was king of fed up with this topics. So even when everybody was talking of these books, I've decided to resist. But I will try it as soon as I can...

Movies
The Artist even if the main actors are French. Don't get me wrong I really like Jean Dujardin. He is a really good actor. I know that this movie won a lot of awards all over the world but I still drag my feet to watch this SILENT movie...

The Ring or SAW
Behind my words and my computer, I'm a grown up. I'm responsible and have a strong mind BUT I can't sleep without the light if I watch some scary movies. Worst, sometimes just the stressfull music will make me jump from my seat!
If you want to know the truth, I've watched "The Others" with a cushion in front of my eyes and there is nothing scary about this movie at all!

The paradox: I really like to read horror books...

What about you ?

Blog Hop...How does this work?
First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools — keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them “hi” in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image).

You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you! What sets this Hop apart from others, is our Feature. Each week we will showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Who is our Feature today?

Find out below. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow our Features and you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee's View Alison Can Read) as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. A lot of blogs are transitioning to WordPress in which they do not have the luxury of GFC, so an RSS subscription is appreciated or if you choose an email subscription. If you don’t have GFC please state in your post how you would like to be followed.

  4. I do recommend Vampire Academy. Though the first book wasn't as great, the others in the series were really good in my opinion.

Thanks for stopping by. New follower.

  6. I'm with Stephanie, I love Vampire Academy! I can't believe you can read horror and not watch it. I'm the opposite, but The Ring freaked me out so much. I followed you every which way because what a cool blog! I read Hearts at Stake in one day too. It was so much fun! Thanks for stopping by. Happy Friday, Lucie.

    1. Thanks for your kind words Robyn but your blog is awesome too! As for the reading horror instead of watching it, I think that the stressfull music has a lot to do with it!

  8. I absolutely love Vampire Academy and I am terrified that the movie just isn't going to live up to my imaginative expectations. Reading the series was all encompassing. Easy books to lose yourself in, there's plenty of action, drama and comedy in those books. Gut wrenching at some points. One of the most epic paranormal love stories I have ever read.

I haven't read Tom Sawyer in ages and I don't think I will again. My TBR is too full!

    1. I prefer to read this serie before going to the theatre. If not, I will be dissapointed and never red the books.

  10. I haven't read Vampire Academy or seen The Artist so you're not alone!

Re: Saw - I saw this movie in theaters when I was in college when my roommate was away. I was so creeped out later that night I went and stayed my friend's room down the hall not to be alone. So I sympathize with your feelings on scary movies. I do love scary books.

  13. Vampire Academy is worth checking out. Don't bother seeing the Ring it is a waste of time. I recommend the original movie it is based off of- Ringu. Much better story!
