Synopsis
All Evie wants is a little bit of normal in her life-- is that really too much to ask? Lucas isn't normal, but he makes her happy.

That should count for something. Evie thinks she can find a balance that will let her be normal and also be with him.

Of course she hadn't counted on adding his family into the mix, or his ex-girlfriend. Life with an elf is never boring.

Summary:
Evie gives a new chance to her relationship with Lucas but keeps it a secret from everybody else. She wants to allow herself some time to adjust and learn to trust the elf again. But the normality of their relationship is disrupted by the arrival of Luacs's family...

Reactions:
The reader had left Evie after she had learn an incredible news that would change her life forever. She found herself facing a difficult choice and the reader was wondering if she would be able to forgive Lucas for having hidden his supernatural condition.

In this second volume, Evie begins by playing ostrich in the hope of removing the agonizing questions that arise about her strange relationship with Lucas. She learns to juggle the temptation to lead a normal life, who reassures her, and the temptation to discover more about the supernatural powers from the Elve that intrigues and frightens her. 

But can you really love someone if you do not take into consideration its past, its origins and all the experiences that define it? The arrival of the family and the former elven girlfriend of Lucas will push the girl to wonder about her real feelings. 

Yet when the adventures between Evie and Lucas begins to become hotter, the author closes the action with a cliffhanger and then, gives us an appointment in the next volume. Grrrrrrr! 


Reading short stories that end at a time when the action becomes interesting is a greatest frustration. Indeed for this volume, I would have preferred to enjoy my reading without a new interruption but it is true that it gives an extra suspense. Be careful though not to abuse the process... 


But to be honest, the second volume keeps all its promises and I am eager to get hold of the end of history...

Tout ce qu'Evie veut, c'est un peu de normalité dans sa vie. Est-ce vraiment trop demander? Lucas n'est pas normal, mais il la rend heureuse. Cela devrait compter pour quelque chose. Evie pense qu'elle peut trouver un équilibre lui permettant d'être normal et de rester avec lui. 
Bien sûr, elle n'avait pas compté sur l'ajout de sa famille dans le mélange ou de son ex-petite amie. La vie avec un elfe n'est jamais ennuyeuse.  

Résumé:
Evie reprend sa relation avec Lucas en cachette pour lui permettre de prendre son temps et d'apprendre à faire confiance à l'elfe. Mais la normalité de leur relation est perturbée par l'arrivée de la famille de Lucas...

Impressions:
Le lecteur avait quitté Evie alors qu'elle venait d'apprendre une nouvelle invraisemblable qui allait changer sa vie à jamais.
Elle se retrouvait face à un choix délicat et on se demandait si elle allait pouvoir pardonner à Lucas de lui avoir caché sa nature d'Elfe.

Dans ce deuxième tome, Evie débute par faire l'autruche dans l'espoir de faire disparaître les questions angoissantes qui surviennent sur sa relation étrange avec Lucas. Elle apprend à jongler entre la tentation de mener une vie normal qui l'a rassure et les pouvoirs surnaturels de sa moitié qui l'intrigue et lui font peur.
Mais peut-on vraiment aimer quelqu'un si l'on ne prend pas en considération son passé, ses origines et toutes les expériences qui le définisse ? 

L'arrivée de la famille elfique et de l'ex petite amie de Lucas vont pousser la jeune fille à s'interroger sur ses réelles sentiments. 


Pourtant au moment où un nouveau chapitre va s'écrire dans les aventures entre Evie et Lucas, l'auteur nous donne rendez-vous dans le prochain volume. Grrrrrrr! 
La lecture de nouvelles courtes qui se terminent au moment même ou l'action devient intéressante reste la plus grande frustration de cette histoire. En effet, j'aurais préféré avoir l'ensemble regroupé dans un seul volume pour me permettre de savourer ma lecture sans interruption mais il est vrai que cela amène un suspense supplémentaire. Attention cependant à ne pas abuser du procédé...
 Le second volume tenant toutes ces promesses, j'ai hâte de mettre la main sur la fin de l'histoire.
