Impressions:

In "Shiver" Maggie Stiefvater had set the stage for the pack of "Werewolves" and had described the profiles of the main characters. In "Linger," the focus is on the relationships, the friendships, the family. Certainly, one is awaiting the further adventures of Sam and Grace wich are told plainly and nicely without the mushy spilling of marshmallow. The description of the emerging feelings is very beautiful and full of restraint. This couple is balanced by the duo Cole and Isabelle. A breeze of fresh air blowing with the emergence of these two bothered and fragile characters . Inividuals and situations are not vapid and I really enjoyed the stories turn more tinged with black. The author talk about the desire to die, to surrender to the facility to the excesses of all kinds. Maggie Stiefvater deals with family relationships and the difficulty of growing up even if you are coming from a wealthy family or not. Of a united and potector family or a remote and cold one. It's delightfully poignant and well written.

La relation de Grâce et de Sam s'intensifie et se renforce. Mais les parents de la jeune fille acceptent assez difficilement la présence de Sam et le lui font bien ressentir. D'autres problèmes surgissent aussi sur la route du couple. Pour Sam, il doit compter avec l'arrivée d'un nouveau membre du pack aux idées suicidaires. Cole, un jeune chanteur à succès, qui a noué des liens avec Isabel et qui pourrait menacer le secret des werewolves. Quant à Grâce, malade, elle va devoir affronter la réalité et faire des choix.

Réactions:
Dans « Frisson », Maggie Stiefvater avait planté le décor de la meute des « Werewolves » et brossé le portrait des personnages principaux.
Dans « Fièvre », on se concentre sur les relations amoureuses, amicales, familiales. Certes, on reste en attente de la suite des aventures de Sam et Grâce qui sont racontés sobrement et joliement sans effusion guimauve. La description des sentiments naissants reste très belle et pleine de retenue. Ce couple est contre balancé par le duo Cole et Isabelle. Un petit vent d'air frais souffle avec l'apparition de ces deux personnages tracassés. Les caractères et les situations ne sont pas mièvres et j'ai vraiment apprécié la tournure des histoires plus teintée de noire. On parle de la volonté de mourir, de s'abandonner à la facilité, aux excès en tout genre. On aborde les liens familiaux et la difficulté de grandir que l'on vienne d'un milieu aisé ou non. D'un noyau uni et protecteur à une famille distante et froide. C'est délicieusement émouvant et bien écrit.
