Synopsis
Melissa has waited her whole life to move out and start her own. This is her first summer after graduating and now she has her own place and a job. Everything she wanted is starting to happen. 

Until the accident.

After almost drowning, the most gorgeous guy she has ever seen not only saves her life, but forever changes it. What do you do when you find out that life as you have always known it isn’t real, and the man you love is a vampire, out to save you from something worse?

Summary:
Melissa was saved from drowning by a splendid man. After her rescue, her life takes a radically different turn. Will she be able to open her heart to Mike after discovering the truth about the boy and the realityof the world around them?

Reactions:
Despite a promising start, this story disappointed me. If the read is rather short, easy to absorb, it is also a little disjointed. 
But the coverage is beautiful ... 

Thus, opening with a drowning and a visit to the emergency room from the heroin, I was really attached to my book. I really enjoyed myself while turning the pages. 
Ditto when she was followed by shadows on her way home. I enjoyed the anticipation. 
However, once the author presented me the monster, I began to stall. This deadly creature is not detailed enough, not enough to be described as one that should be avoid. And from this point, what had been a nice story began to annoy me.

Melissa, who wanted to have a taste of independence became the shadow of Mike. Unable to stay alone, she is always whining and waiting for Mike to help her. A very immature heroine...
As for Mike, the reader knows almost nothing about him. Only that he manipulates the girls and he plays with his glamour and attraction. Not necessarily a hero to whom I wish to believe in or to support. 

In terms of the love story between them, it is very light. Sometimes I even wondered if there was actually an attraction on Mike's part when you see how much he puts the brakes. Sure, he always has a good reason...

Big disappointment also with the Twilight's references. If the first one could have been humorous, going to the theater with a vampire and compare your adventure with Bella and Edward, I thought it was a bit heavy. 

Yet the potential is there. I liked the idea of ​​vampires, a little retro, who prefer to use tools of the century in which they died and who are skeptical of modernity. It was interesting. I also liked the start but it is as if the author had lost his concentration or if it had not been comfortable with the invention of his paranormal universe. 

I remain lukewarm and a little disappointed. Perhaps the author will succeed to surprise me in his sequel by offering a more detailed story that will not have you dropping along the way.

Mélissa est sauvée de la noyade par un homme splendide et sa vie prend un tournant radicalement différent. La jeune fille sera-t-elle capable d'ouvrir son coeur à Mike après avoir découvert la vérité sur ce garçon et sur la réalité qui l'entoure ?

Impressions:
Prometteur au démarrage, cette histoire m'a pourtant déçue. Si le récit est assez court, facile à lire, il est aussi un peu décousu. 
Mais la couverture est magnifique. 

Ainsi, l'ouverture avec une noyade et un séjour aux urgences de l'héroïne m'a vraiment attaché à mon livre et je me suis régalée à tourner les pages. Idem lorsqu'elle est suivie par des ombres en rentrant chez elle. J'ai apprécié l'anticipation. 

Pourtant, une fois que l'auteur m'a annoncé la couleur avec la présentation du monstre, j'ai commencé à décrocher. Cette créature meurtrière n'est pas assez détaillée, pas assez décrite comme étant un être dont il faut éviter de croiser le chemin. 
Et à partir de ce point, ce qui avait été une histoire sympathique a commencé à m'agacer.

Mélissa, qui souhaitait goûter à son indépendance est devenue l'ombre de Mike. Incapable de rester seule, toujours à pleurnicher et à attendre que Mike lui vienne en aide. Une héroïne très immature. 
Quant à Mike, on le découvre peu. On sait juste qu'il manipule les filles et qu'il joue de son attraction. Pas forcément un héros auquel, j'ai pu m'attacher. 

Pour ce qui est de l'histoire d'amour entre eux, elle est très light, parfois même je me suis demandée si il y avait réellement une attraction de la part de Mike qui met vachement les freins.

Grosse déception aussi avec les références à Twilight. Si la première aurait pu être pleine d'humour, aller au cinéma avec un vampire et comparer son aventure à celle de Bella et Edward, j'ai trouvé ça lourd. 

Pourtant, le potentiel est là. J'ai aimé l'idée de vampires, un peu rétro, qui aiment utiliser des outils du siècle auquel ils sont morts et qui doutent de la modernité. C'était intéressant. 
J'ai aussi beaucoup apprécié le démarrage mais c'est comme si l'auteur avait perdu sa concentration ou s'il n'avait pas été à l'aise avec l'invention de son univers paranormal. 

Je reste donc mitigée et un peu déçue. Peut-être l'auteur parviendra-t-il à me surprendre en proposant une suite plus détaillée qui vous embarque sans vous lâcher en cours de route.
