THE LADY MOST LIKELY BY ELOISA JAMES, JULIA QUINN AND CONNIE BROCKWAY

Synopsis
Three of the brightest stars of historical romance invite you to a party at the countryhome of the Honorable Marquess of Finchley

Hugh Dunne, the Earl of Briarly, needs a wife, so his sisterhands him a list of delectable damsels and promises to invite them—and a few other gentlemen—to her country house for whatis sure to be the event of the season.

Hugh will have time to woo whichever lady he most desires . . .Unless someone else snatches her first.

The invitation list includes:

The horse-mad but irresistibly handsome Earl of Briarly
The always outspoken Miss Katherine Peyton.
The dashing war hero Captain Neill Oakes.
The impossibly beautiful (and painfully shy) Miss Gwendolyn Passmore.
The terribly eligible new Earl of Charters.
The widowed Lady Georgina Sorrell (who has no plans to marry, ever)
And your hostess, Lady Carolyn Finchley, an irrepressiblematchmaker who plans to find the lady most likely to capture her brother’s untamed heart.

Summary:
Hugh Dunne, Earl of Briarly is looking for a woman to quickly settle down. He does not really have preference. So he lets his sister Carolyn, the task of finding him contenders.
Carolyn decided then to make a list and arrange a party to her country house but nothing goes as planned ...

Reactions:
A three hands delightful writen novel. If you can not take anything away from the prose, it is the stories that will miss a little something. Indeed, the three stories are interesting but too short and too underdeveloped for my taste.
As a reader I would have liked to share the adventures of the three couples and learn a bit more about the three love encounters. Maybe have them compiled in three différents novels. That way I could better appreciate them.
For example, all the characters are sparkling, vibrant and engaging. I was a fan of Carolyn and her husband. They are a super cute couple that I would have liked to learn the juicy details of their courtship.

I also regret not having been able to meet Gwendolyn in a more profound way. I have had a rather superficial image of the heroine. My bad! The fiery temper of Kate too deserved to be more detailed because I think the girl could have make the reader laugh with her antics and outspoken personnality.
As for Georgia, I wish she gives more wire retondre to Hugh before falling under his spell.

Attention, as a reader, I have had a great time following the different characters because the basic idea was pretty cool. It starts from a sister who makes a list and plays matchmaker for her brother.
Kind of sweet!
Even if you understand the plot from the beginning, you let ourselves go by the story. Good novel to take on a trip or reading for pleasure ...

Sentences

From Alex: « Somewhere, he thought, poets were weeping. No verse could rival this single, perfect kiss. »

From Neil: « I came here for you, Kate Peyton. I have waited for four years to woo you and win you and make you my bride, »

From Neil: « Because no one else knows you like I do. No one else understands you like I do. You'd terrify any other poor bounder with your bulling and sharp tongue. He'd have white hair within a fortnight of making you his bride. »

From Neil: « You're a virago and a tyrant and an angel and a sylph and a faerie princess and a tempest. »

From Georgie: « And that smile! It was sensuous, it was wicked, it was inviting. »

THE LADY MOST LIKELY
BY ELOISA JAMES, JULIA QUINN AND CONNIE BROCKWAY
