Discovered as a free download on Amazon, with a promising first extract read, I felt like diving into the world imagined by Melanie Nilles.

A nice story about a high school student who wants to avoid drawing attention which attaches great importance to appearances and what people think.
Everything changes when she discovers her true identity and must rely on a social pariah to access to her inheritance.
Meanwhile, she's dating an handsome Apollo who flirt with her. Although he does not match her expectations, he is perfect in the eyes of others. When her heart and the crystal begin to falter and the reality proves her that the hero is not necessarily the one with the looks but the one on which she can count on, Raea has the courage to admit her mistakes.
That's the cute moral of the story.

Regarding the story itself, I confess to having read some passages diagonally.
Either because the angels genealogy confused me, either because the descriptions were a little too long. Heaviness in the text coupled with no enough spark in the action. Let me explain: all ingredients are there to make a good story.
Interesting characters, drama, a little romance, magic and yet it lacks the glue that makes one amazing adventure.
I can not say I did not like it because I finished this adventure without difficulty and that I would certainly read the next volume. I remain interested but not shaken.

Elis est l'un de ses camarades que tout le monde traite de monstre avec lequel elle ne veut surtout pas s'associer. Pallin est un étudiant étranger super canon qui craque sur Raea mais qui ne doit rester que quelques jours en ville.

réveille avec des ailes... Une seule personne possède les réponses à ses questions, mais une fois la vérité révélée, son quotidien ne sera plus jamais le même...

Impressions:
Découvert sur Amazon en téléchargement gratuit, avec un premier extrait prometteur, j'ai eu envie de mon plonger dans l'univers imaginé par Melanie Nilles.

Une histoire sympathique sur une lycéenne qui veut éviter d'attirer l'attention sur elle et qui attache beaucoup d'importance aux apparences.
Tout bascule lorsqu'elle découvre sa véritable identité et qu'elle doit s'appuyer sur un paria social pour accéder à son héritage.

Dans le même temps, elle sort avec le bel Apollon étranger qui lui fait les yeux doux. Même s'il ne correspond pas à ses attentes, il apparaît parfait aux yeux des autres. Lorsque son cœur et son cristal commencent à vaciller et que la réalité lui prouve que le héros n'est forcément pas celui avec les plus beaux atours mais celui sur lequel on peut compter, Raea a le courage d'avouer et d'assumer ses fautes. Voilà pour la morale de l'histoire.

Concernant l'histoire en elle même, j'avoue avoir lu certains passages en diagonal.
Soit parce que la généalogie des anges m'embrouillait, soit parce que les descriptions étaient un peu longues.
Des lourdeurs dans le texte mais parfois aussi l'absence d'étincelle dans l'action.

Je m'explique: tous les ingrédients sont là pour faire de ce livre une bonne histoire. Des personnages intéressants, du drame, une petite romance, de la magie et pourtant il manque le liant qui rend l'aventure époustouflante.

Je ne peux pas dire que je n'ai pas aimé, car je suis allée au bout de cette aventure sans difficulté et que j'irais certainement lire le prochain volume. Je reste intéressée mais pas ébranlée.
Un ouvrage correct qu'un haussement d'épaule suivit d'un « Pas mal » traduirait au mieux.
