REC-THE DAY YOU CRIED BY MAKINO AOI

KIMI GA NAITA HI

Synopsis from www.mangahere.com

Aizawa Minami is a girl who has never cried in her life. She's awkward with her feelings, and she carries a camcorder to film everything she likes. Because of her quirks, she's labeled as a freak and alienated by her classmates.
Satoru is her classmate and a recently retired teen actor who understands her. They quickly become friends, but what Minami doesn't know is that Satoru is hiding his secret from the world...
Summary:
Minami is a lonely girl a little strange that never shed a single tear.
On the contrary; her classmate, Satoru, is apable of controlling his emotions on demand. He has been acting since a young age but has suddenly decided to hang up ...

Reactions:
This is one of the first times I've been so moved after reading a very short manga.

In one volume, Makino Aoi managed to overwhelm me with emotions. Her drawings are expressive, shocks and beautiful to watch.
The story is more serious and sad that the ones usually told in this type of structure. It talks about the end of a dream, working in the entertainment industry, image rights, the attractiveness of people for the sensational and sordid pictures/shows too.

It is very well led by the artist.

Finally, with the characters, the reader follows the courageous choice that Minami and Satoru do during their adventures.

Minami is very shy and quiet. Meanwhile, she supports malice, fear of difference about her behaviour while she is noble and generous in her actions.
Satoru is more complex. So used to playing a role in the limelight, he even wants to control and orchestrate the end his life.

But one encounter can change everything ... One person can give you hope! One person may see yourself as you are, reach out for you and give you the desire to be better.

This is a beautiful love story, sad and shy. A wonderful job!
