Synopsis
Endurance Island. She's just not the survival type. But when her boss offers her a spot on the show and the opportunity of a lifetime, she packs her bags and heads to the tropics to be a contestant. Once in the game, though, it's clear that Abby's in over her head.
No one's more competitive than sexy, delicious and arrogant Dean Woodall. Sure, he's clever, strong, good at challenges, and has a body that makes her mouth water. He also hates Abby just as much as she hates him. That's fine with her; she'll just ignore the jerk.
But the rules of Endurance Island are working against them. Abby and Dean are teamed up & alone on the beach. It's either work together, or go home. Stuck with no one's company but their own, they learn they might just make a good team after all. And Abby learns that with just a little bit of kindling, the flames of hate can quickly turn to flames of passion.
Abby, a journalist not very sport oriented, is offered a position on an island to play on a game show. On her way for weeks of survival alongside a handsome arrogant man, their cohabitation will create sparks ...
Reactions:
Immersed in an episode of « Survivor », the reader discovers the adventures of silicone bimbos, Rambos and bodybuilders with perfects bodies who have been selected to participate in this game of endurance on an tropical island. There's jealousy, betrayal, alliances, romance, cries, tears and some suspense. Everything to make a good show and a good leisure book.
The author used humor in the lines of her stereotyped participants. The couple, Abby / Dean, is rather amusing and endearing. The reader get caught up in the evolution of their love story even if everything is fairly predictable.
Whatever, I had a great time to relax as if I was behind my TV screen.
By cons, in terms of originality, it's a bit light. It's like a version of a Boy Scout Bridget Jones had participated in « Survivor ». But the author draws on the good strings to turn this book into a good romantic comedy.
I left my reading with a smile, pleased with my encounters with the different characters I would have liked to follow the adventures in another volume without difficulty.

Une fois dans le jeu, cependant, il est clair qu' Abby n'est pas dans son élément.

Impressions:
Plongé dans un épisode de Koh Lanta, le lecteur découvre les péripéties des bimbos siliconées, rambos en herbe et bodybuilder aux corps de rêve qui ont été sélectionnés pour participer à ce jeu d'endurance sur une île paradisiaque. Il y a de la jalousie, de la trahison, des alliances, de la romance, des cris, des larmes et du suspense. Tout pour faire un bon show et une bonne lecture de détente.
Pour ma part, j'adhère à cette émission de télé réalité à la Robinson Crusoé. Ma lecture a donc été plaisante. L'auteur fait preuve d'humour dans les répliques des stéréotypes de participants. Le couple Abby/Dean est plutôt amusant et attachant. On se laisse prendre par l'évolution de leur histoire même si tout est assez prévisible. Qu'importe, j'ai passé un très bon moment de détente comme si je me trouvais derrière mon écran de télé.
Par contre, au point de vue de l'originalité, c'est un peu léger. C'est comme si une version Boyscoot de Bridget Jones avait participé à Koh Lanta. Mais l'auteur tire sur les bonnes ficelles pour faire de cette comédie romantique un bon sucés.
Je suis sortie de ma lecture avec le sourire, contente de ma rencontre avec les personnages dont j'aurais aimé suivre les aventures dans un autre volume sans difficulté.
