Short but attention-grabbing , the story describes the first emotions of a young adolescent for her handsome foreign neighbor. Under cover of a beautiful friendship, feelings arise between the two protagonists.

If for Beth, her heart was inflamed at first sight, her youth, her childish's body and a lack of confidence in herself prevented her from seizing opportunities.
She makes no move to work on her feelings and accepts easily the friendship because she thought she lacks of appeal to seduce Jacob.

For his part, Jacob has always believed in his friendship with the girl next door. He has always seen fit to protect and preserve it. Yet, he was never really physically interested in Beth.

The bond between them has always been stronger than the flirtations of the young man. At the time, her best friend represent his conscience and his best confidant. Beth is the only person to see Jacob as he is. It's something priceless for the musician.

A real nice and enjoyable story. Too bad it ends like an episode of TV series with the result revealed in the next issue...

I would have liked to have a clearer and accomplished closing. I was a little frustrated because this is not a real end...
It's hard to explain: no disaster, no cliffhanger full of suspense that let you breathless... Like in a play, when the character exit himself from the scene, nothing more.
If you want to know what happened you need to read "My Once and Future Love."
Ok, it was certainly view has a teasing decided by the author but a strange one in my opinion.

It's a little frustrating to end an enjoyable read with a great story on a note as confused. Despite this issue, the story is cute and nice

Résumé:
Beth est une jeune fille avec peu d'amis lorsqu'elle débute sa vie de lycéenne mais c'était avant de rencontrer le beau Jacob dans son cours de Géométrie.

C'était sans compter sur le fait que Jacob, depuis son transfert de Londres, allait devenir son nouveau voisin et qu'il allait avoir besoin de cours de soutien...

Impressions:
Proposé gratuitement sur Amazon, ce roman se lit en moins d'une heure. Très court mais prenant, il décrit les premiers émois d'une jeune adolescente pour son voisin. Sous couvert d'une belle amitié, des sentiments naissent entre les deux protagonistes.

Si pour Beth, son coeur s'est enflammé dès le premier regard, son jeune âge, son corps d'enfant et un manque de confiance en elle, l'ont empêché de saisir sa chance. Il fallait que ses sentiments et qu'elle-même murisse.

De son côté Jacob a toujours estimait son amitié avec la jeune fille. Il a toujours cru bon de la protéger et de la préserver. Pourtant, s'il ne s'est jamais réellement intéressé physiquement à Beth, le lien qui les unit a toujours été plus fort que les flirts du jeune homme.
A la fois, sa meilleure amie, sa conscience et son confidente, Beth est la seule personne à voir Jacob tel qu'il est.

Dommage que l'histoire se termine comme un épisode de série télé avec la suite au prochain numéro... J'aurais bien aimé avoir une fin plus nette et aboutie.

J'ai été un peu frustrée car ce n'est pas une fin catastrophe, pleine de suspense ou haletante. Non, juste la fin d'une scène comme au théâtre lorsqu'un personnage part en coulisse. Pour connaître la suite, il faudra lire « My Once and Future Love ».

C'est dommage de terminer une agréable lecture avec une belle histoire sur une note aussi confuse. Malgré cette non fin, l'histoire est sympa.
