STAGE DIVE VOL 1

Synopsis
Waking up in Vegas was never meant to be like this.

Evelyn Thomas’s plans for celebrating her twenty-first birthday in Las Vegas were big. Huge. But she sure as hell never meant to wake up on the bathroom floor with a hangover to rival the black plague, a very attractive half-naked tattooed man, and a diamond on her finger large enough to scare King Kong. Now if she could just remember how it all happened.

One thing is for certain, being married to rock and roll’s favourite son is sure to be a wild ride.

Reactions
Not at all what I was expecting ... Very pleasant surprise! After reading the synopsis, I was expecting a sort of feminine adaptation of "The Hangover." A mixing of humor and romance with rock music on the background.
Well, the result was more than entertaining.

This story got me hooked and I really avidly turned the pages to find out what would happen with the couple Evelyn / David. Of course, sometimes there was a feeling of déjà vu and already read, but the characters are endearing. But there is depth in the topics.

Certainly, there is a signed marriage under the influence of spirits that could be felt as bullshit or a joke. But under the humor of this funny situation lies the difficulty of each couple: trying to build a lasting relationship while dealing with our differences.
Truths have to be told.
Concessions and compromises have to be made to resist obstacles.

Sure, there is a fairy tale side in this tale because the hero is a famous rock star. However, it's less based on the fame and glamour than on the work behind the curtains. I loved that Kylie Scott shows the hard work necessary to bring success.
The abuses that can occur with the fame and money that comes with it. In the light of the text, there are emotions and feelings captured very precisely and that's what makes the charm of this story.

Personally, I've become a fan of Mal and I look forward to the next volume of his adventures. His humor made me have a good time.

This series and this author were a great discovery.

Sentences

From Evelyn: "Jimmy had said some horrible things and it had stayed with me. Funny how the bad stuff always did."

From David: "I like you the way you are, blurting out whatever shit crosses your mind. Not trying to play me, or use me. You're just... being with me. I like you."

From David: "Love isn't always smooth or straightforward. It can be messy and painful," he said. "Doesn't mean it isn't still the most incredible thing that can ever happen to you."

From David: "First things first, I really need to get into those panties of yours." From Evelyn: "I don't think they'd fit you," I giggled."

STAGE DIVE VOL 1
