Synopsis
Burgeoning author Catalina Crisp completes a parody involving twins Iverson and Matson Brentwood's scandalous arrival in London and publishes it under her father's name. When the writing hits the town, it's not long before a darkly handsome man--Lord Iverson Brentwood himself--is at her door, looking for her father with blood in his eyes. 
Dallying with the dashing rogue seems like the perfect escape...and it should calm him down enough to leave her father alone. But Catalina does the exact opposite--she heats him up like no other woman ever has...

Summary:
To avoid financial ruin, Catalina finished her father's articles and poems in the utmost discretion. But one day, after a parody has been published, Iverson Brentwood comes furiously knocking at her door with the desire to kill her father for the indignity that has been done to his family. To calm this sublime and arrogant visitor and to prevent her secret to be discovered, Catalina must use all her charms ...

Reactions:
I tend to read romance novels, especially when I am sick. I do not know if it is to comfort me, take my mind of my pain or simply because happy ending story are generally easy to read but I tend to over look them up in those moments when I want some lightness.
 This is exactly the impression I got from reading "A Gentleman says" I do ". Easy to enjoy, with a slight plausible plot and characters with short temper and sharp tongue.

Surprisingly, Catalina, is an heroin who does not play the frightened mouse, nor the submissive lady with her head down waiting for someone to take control of her destiny.

Rather, it is she who leads the way into the her father household. She who has spirit and a practical mind that works to help her family.

Certainly, she remains in the shadows to avoid damaging her reputation but she is lively and does not mince her words. I found her interesting, curious and rather daring in her search for answers on topics that were unknown to her.

As for Iverson, he is an angry, arrogant and endearing male. The perfect hero for a good romance!

As for the story, nothing transcendent or nothing that has taken my breath away but yet I had a pleasant and lively time.
I had never read Amelia Grey's novels and I certainly will try one of her previous works if the opportunity arises.
Unless I await the further adventures of the Brentwood's twins to see what will happen to Matson ...

Mais un jour, après qu'une parodie n'ait été publiée, Iverson Brentwood vient rageusement toquer à sa porte avec l'envie de tuer son père pour l'affront qui vient d'être fait à sa famille. Pour calmer ce sublime et arrogant visiteur et éviter que son secret ne soit découvert, Catalina doit user de tout ses charmes...

Impressions:
J'ai tendance à lire des romances surtout lorsque je suis malade. Je ne sais pas si c'est pour me réconforter, me changer les idées ou simplement parce que les histoires sont généralement faciles à lire avec des « Happy Ending » mais j'ai tendance à plus les rechercher dans les moments ou je veux de la légèreté. 



C'est exactement l'impression que j'ai eu en lisant « A Gentleman says « I do ». Facile à lire, léger avec une intrigue plausible, des personnages avec du caractère. Bref, un bon moment en perspective.

Étonnamment, Catalina, l'héroïne ne joue pas les vierges effarouchées, ni les soumises avec la tête baissée attendant que quelqu'un prenne en main son destin. Bien au contraire, c'est elle qui mène la danse dans la demeure de son père, qui a l'esprit pratique et qui travaille pour aider sa famille.
Certes, elle reste dans l'ombre pour éviter d'entacher sa réputation mais elle est vive et n'a pas la langue dans sa poche. Je l'ai trouvé intéressante, curieuse et plutôt osée dans sa quête de réponses sur des sujets qui lui étaient inconnus.

Iverson, lui, est un personnage masculin colérique, arrogant et attachant. Un héros digne d'une bonne romance!

Du côté de l'histoire, rien de transcendant ou qui ne m'ait coupé le souffle mais j'ai pourtant passé un bon moment. 


Je n'avais encore jamais lu de nouvelles d'Amelia Grey et je me laisserais certainement tenter par l'un de ces précédents ouvrages si l'occasion se présente.
A moins que je n'attende la suite des aventures des jumeaux Brentwood pour savoir ce qui va arriver à Matson...
