Synopsis

By glancing through "A touch of Greek," I expected to fall on a slightly different story, I must admit. I was thinking about a fantasy novel based on the mythological gods with extraordinary powers embedded in fantastic adventures. I expected some rough fighting, an honorable quest, monsters, etc. ...
None of that! Tina Folsom uses the mythological aspect to install her scenary for a rather fun, erotic and entertaining romance.

Admittedly, the idea of ​​Triton, the son of Poseidon, sent to Earth in a small town of the United States rather intrigued me, especially after the meeting between Sophia and Poseidon on the beach. So I wanted to know a bit more...
If the plot is not really original, some of the scenes too expected and anticipated by the reader, the characters themselves are distracting. Particulary Triton. He is as annoying as he is charming. I guess his physical attributes rather flattering, from the descriptions made ​​by Tina Folsom, did not spoil my reading ... At least in my imagination!

Certainly the language of the young god and his friends sometimes deserves to be more refined as they talk trash and swear too much but sometimes you also need to call a spade a spade!

Maybe I would have like to know more about the adaptation of an Olympian god to his life in the twenty-first century a bit more, but we do not read a romance for that...

Résumé:
Triton a enragé Zeus une fois de trop et il se retrouve envoyé sur Terre, en guise de punition, à la recherche d'une femme qui passera outre son physique pour l'aimer tel qu'il est. La tâche devait s'avérer relativement aisée mais c'était sans compter sur la capacité d'une mortelle à captiver le cœur d'un dieu...


Impressions:
En feuilletant « A touch of Greek », je m'attendais à tomber sur une histoire un peu différente je dois l'avouer. Je pensais à un roman de « fantasy » basé sur les dieux de la mythologie aux pouvoirs extraordinaires embarqués dans des aventures fantastiques. Je m'attendais à des combats sanglants, une quête, des monstres, etc...
Rien de tout cela! Tina Folsom utilise les dieux grecs pour poser le cadre d'une romance plutôt amusante et distrayante.

Il faut dire que l'idée d'avoir Triton, le fils de Poséidon, envoyé sur Terre dans une petite ville des Etats-Unis m'a plutôt intrigué surtout après la rencontre entre Sophia et Poséidon sur la plage. J'ai donc voulu en savoir plus...

Si l'intrigue n'est pas vraiment originale, avec parfois des scènes trop attendues et anticipées par le lecteur, les personnages, eux, sont distrayants. Triton est aussi agaçant que charmant. Je suppose que ses attributs physiques plutôt flatteurs, d'après les descriptions faites par Tina Folsom, n'ont rien gâché à ma lecture...
Du moins dans mon imagination!

Certes le langage du jeune dieu et de ses amis mérite parfois d'être plus épuré de jurons mais parfois il faut aussi appeler un chat, un chat!

A bien y réfléchir, j'aurais peut-être aimé connaître plus de détails sur l'adaptation d'un dieu de l'Olympe à la vie au XXIe siècle mais on ne lit pas forcément une romance pour ça.

Sinon, l'histoire est assez agréable pour vous permettre de vous évader, vous divertir et d'en demander plus.
